CNC Machining

MECHANEX manufactures and machines complex mechanical components from one offs to production runs, for on and off shore oil and gas operators, power stations, water and gas utilities, and process plants.

 

Our machine shop features 6 CNCs consisting of 2 machining centres, 4 lathes, and 12 manual machines including lathes, turret mills, universal mills, and saws.

With our in-house engineering team and experience we have the ability to design, engineer, prototype, and manufacture any product using the latest in CAD/CAM software.

Labour Hire

Mechanical Fitting & Project Engineering

MECHANEX and EXGROUP supply qualified engineers and mechanical tradespersons to any size project. We utilise the most experienced  personnel in our field who can be mobilised from all Australian capital cities.

 

We can provide personnel who are skilled in at least the following tasks:

  • Rigging

  • Rope Access

MECHANEX has a large range of on-site equipment, procedures and custom tooling, which enables us to complete challenging machining either:

Flange Facing

MECHANEX has equipment readily able to machine flanges up to 3 meters diameter and larger when required. We have the experience and capability of (but not limited to) machining the following flange faces and styles:
 

  • Raised face

  • RTJ

  • Hub type connections

  • Compact

  • Heat exchanger tubesheets

  • Channels, girth and bonnets

On-site Milling

MECHANEX has the ability to carry out linear rail milling and gantry milling. We can manufacture custom mounting frames and plates for any application whilst ensuring safety and quality.

 

We are able to mill the following:

  • Heat exchange partition plates – machining partition grooves

  • Pump and motor bases

  • Keyways

  • Compressor gas injection ports

Pipe Cutting & Weld Prepping

MECHANEX can pipe cut and weld prep diameters up to 1700mm with split frame clamshells and larger with travel cutters.

 

Utilising our experience and expertise, we can carry out the machining safely, quickly, efficiently and in difficult locations on-site or in customers' yards.

Integrated Management System accredited to ISO 17025, 9001, 45001 and 14001

Drilling & Stud Removal

MECHANEX is able to drill larger diameter holes, cut, drill and re-tap any size holes where studs have seized and cannot be removed.

 

With our experience and expertise, we can perform on-site or in our workshops.

Workshop Support

MECHANEX has three fully functional machine shops and fabrication bays to support internal and external requirements.

 

We are able to design and reverse-engineer components as required.

Bespoke Machinery

MECHANEX has the knowledge and ability to design, engineer and manufacture custom equipment as required for the specialised job that may seem impossible for any workshop or on-site situation.

We can offer other mechanical services including Camera Inspections and Pump Services

Bolting & Flange Management

MECHANEX can offer an array of controlled bolting equipment to suit any client requirements from tensioning tools, direct drive cassettes, squarer drives and torque wrenches.

Heat Exchanger Services

MECHANEX is able to carry out complete heat exchanger refurbishments either on-site or in our workshop, from stripping, cleaning, painting, retubes machining and pressure testing.

Hydro & Pneumatic Testing

MECHANEX has the ability to carry out hydro and pneumatic testing of pipe work, vessels or any mechanical components required.
